jack hastings
Jack Hastings is a songwriter, singer and musician often caught red-handed in the company of dRAW PiNKY, Hell Toupee and Pink Toupee Collective. Also a graphic artist, photographer, composer and playwright, Jack has had a long and checkered past in a variety of artistic endeavors. Although primarily an auto-didact, he studied fine-art photography at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco and at Los Angeles City College following his bouncing majors in Creative Writing, Communication Studies and Theatre at California State University, Sacramento. Eventually he was awarded a Bachelor’s degree from the University of San Francisco in an entirely unrelated field.
As a musician, he has performed and recorded with The C&L Jug Band, The Reds Whites & Blues, Girl Fight, Ozzie, Anonymo, Venom Junta and the Fun Girls, The (Sacramento) Spin Doctors, Frankenstein Haircut, Barricade, dRAW PiNKY and Hell Toupee.
Jack has also served as co-writer/composer and performer/musician in the experimental works, "Berlin 1990," "Winter in Hollywood," "Peep Shows 1 and 2," "Bacon Bits," "I Just Wanna Wear My Head," "Krasnyj Pinata," "Sci Fi Hotel – The Musical," "Wasp in the Cockpit," "Miss Fortune and the Carnival of Fools" and "The Cobra and the Hare."
As an actor, he has performed the roles of Mr. Van Daam in "The Diary of Anne Frank," Coulmier in "Marat/Sade," Slothar the Slotharious in "dRAW PiNKY Goes to Hell Toupee," Whistlin' Pappy Jack in "Wasp in the Cockpit;" Mighty Tiny in "Miss Fortune and the Carnival of Fools" and Zombie in "The Cobra and the Hare." in addition to roles in "Sacra" and "The Baseball Secrets of Cuttlefish and Spike," he has also appeared in the independent films "Little Geeks," "La Salada" and "Five Down."
Currently he is obsessing on photography and digital art while continuing his musical and theatrical pursuits.
